I am a photographer based in Falkirk, Scotland. My primary focus is on creating images using black and white film and handcrafting prints using traditional darkroom techniques.

I prefer not to work within the confines of a photojournalistic mindset of documenting reality, opting instead to focus on capturing moments over the span of time using longer shutter speeds without any expectation of perfection and utilising the absence of colour to create dark and brooding scenes.

In a world of disconnect, instant gratification and digital ideals I have adopted a traditional photographic workflow. This approach although more time consuming provides a contemplative space within a more restricted process. I strive to maintain an element of rawness and imperfection in my work which I feel is more depictive of not only our world but ourselves.
